Worm Vegetable and Congee Breakfast

First photo is of the wrong breakfast–sweet rice-wine based porridge. Apparently, pickled worm vegetable (Duffy swears this is the translation of its name, because it “looks like a worm”–but that’s not what I think of first when I look at it) should be eaten with congee. So I went back for the right soup. Conclusion: worm vegetable is okay, kind of like a salty pickled turnip. But the pickled sort of sweet potato thing and the Wood Ear mushrooms with chili are awesome. And there was bacon, too…
